Storage information:
All sausage items will keep up to one week after arrival if refrigerated in original vacuum tight packages. Should vacuum packaging become loose—indicating an air leak—remove immediately and wrap in a paper towel. Sausages need air circulation, so do not wrap in plastic wrap if storing in refrigerator. They can also be frozen up to 2 months, either in original packaging or in freezer bags, without affecting flavor or quality. Defrost slowly in refrigerator; do not thaw at room temperature. Mustards and sauerkraut should be refrigerated after opening.

How to serve:
All these sausages are fully cooked and are made with natural casings. They can all be grilled or fried.
To grill these sausages, place them on the grill over low heat, turning frequently, until they have a nice brown color—approximately 15 minutes. If the grill is too hot, the sausages will split open completely and lose their flavor. When the sausage is fully heated, it should crack open only slightly. Serve them on a roll or bun and top with sauerkraut and mustard.
The Debreziner and Kilometer are also excellent appetizers. Serve either cold or after grilling, just cut them into bite size pieces, pierce with toothpicks and serve with spicy or sweet mustard for dipping. Beer goes well with these sausages.
The Nuernberger Bratwurst makes a perfect breakfast sausage. Just fry slowly in a pan until brown and serve along side eggs, potatoes and toast.
If you would like to serve Weisswurst the Bavarian way, just heat and serve with sweet Bavarian mustard and fresh rolls. To heat, just bring a pot of water to a boil, drop in Weisswurst, turn off heat, cover and let sit for 15 minutes. Put in a terrine filled with hot water and set on the table so that they stay warm. It is usually best to remove the outer casing on the Weisswurst before eating. These are especially good for children.
The Sauerkraut can be heated in a pan as is directly out of the can. It can also be prepared by sautéing with bacon pieces and chopped onions. Add them to the sauerkraut and simmer for 30 minutes.
