These items keep without freezing; they will only air dry in refrigerator. Hams need air circulation. Best if wrapped in paper towel. Can also be left unopened in original vacuum tight packages. Should vacuum packaging become loose - indicating an air leak - remove immediately and wrap in paper towel. Will stay fresh up to 8 weeks. Can also be frozen for up to 2 months. Defrost slowly in refrigerator.
Hams should not be cooked. They are ready to eat as is, and are a convenient choice for taking along on trips. You may serve them sliced paper thin atop any bread, with pickles on the side. If you do not have a slicer, cut a one to two inch piece off of ham, lay flat and then cut thin slices with a sharp knife.
